Welcome... to my Nightwish collection website.

I've been a Nightwish collector since around 2005 when, after reading an article about them in a music magazine, I bought Highest Hopes, their Spinefarm-released compilation... and was instantly hooked.

​

Over the intervening years, I've accumulated quite a decently-sized collection of the various different versions of their material although, more recently (post-Dark Passion Play) have concentrated on vinyl album releases.

​

It is somewhat of a mystery to me why I haven't built this site before now. I guess thanks must go to my good lady wife, Sam The (Un)believer, for a recent job change resulting in her working a mix of weekends, evenings and night-shifts, leaving me with a fair bit of 'me-time'.

​

I'm not just a collector - I'm also a fan and have seen them in concert each time they've visited the UK since 2005 and listen to all their albums on rotation (although only the CD versions - the vinyl stays dedicatedly unplayed). It is, however, to my eternal regret that I discovered the band too late to see them live with Tarja.

​

Do I have a favourite incarnation? Tarja... Anette... Floor? I don't but I should say that, at the moment at least, my favourite album is Imaginaerum. It must be said, however, that I miss Jukka's drumming.

​

For now, this website is primarily picture-based but it is an ever-changing beast and I do plan to add far more text, detailing tracklists, recording/mixing/production info etc but, for now, it is what it is.

​

It should be noted that the images contained within have either been gleaned from the web (of course I'm gonna pinch a picture or 100 off Google image search) or are my own pictures of the actual items in my possession. Am I precious about them? Nah mate, not at all and, if I knew what it meant, I'd say they were probably covered by the fair use laws.

​

I am, according to my wife, a 'faffer' of the highest order and will probably be tinkering with the appearance and content for the rest of my life ('Oooh that looks so much better like that...' and off I head to change the rest of the site in its entirety) so please consider the site as being under construction... for ever. 

​
